On Sept. 11, 2008, I finally received a re-conditioned replacement monitor. The one I returned was NEW. However at this point I will accept it and pray it does not go out just to get this experience behind me. (I was using a borrowed monitor for 4 months.)
Never again will I buy a Westinghouse product. (Really, Really BAD Customer Service)
I do get on the internet and post happy experiences. In the past I have praised Amtrak, Charter customer service and other things. In fact when I purchased this monitor I posted several positive comments on a couple of different sites because it worked so beautifully with my Linux/Ubuntu system. I was lavish in my praise of this product in particular.
And, yes to have praised it only to be let down when it died followed by being betrayed by the customer service makes it worse.
It is now July 26, 2008, and Westinghouse has had my monitor since May 14, 2008, After making 9 phone calls and being promised 3 times to be called back by someone this is still no word on when I will get the replacement I was promised. (Really, Really BAD Customer Service)
I, too, jumped through hoops for Westinghouse customer service. I bought a similar product, a 19 in. monitor, that died within the warranty period. I received my RMA, gathered up the paperwork required, paid for shipping it back and received nothing. The monitor has been in Westinghouse posession for almost two months now and I can find out nothing.
I have never encountered any thing like what Westinghouse calls customer service in my long lifetime. They really do take it to another level.
Nothing will ever induce me to buy a westinghouse product ever again. (Westinghouse)
Never again will I buy a Westinghouse product.
