I just called Ron at Direct TV and asked him if I used the protection plan, my contract would not be extended. If I upgraded, my contract would be extended. I never read my Dish contract and never had a problem, but I will read the Direct TV contract which is on their website. I don't think it is legal unless they send you a copy.

I agree. Dish Network is the best and most honest company. Direct TV is terrible.

I also was a Dish Network customer who switched to direct tv. I am so disappointed I will go back to Dish when my contract expires.

I've been a Direct TV customer for one month. They are terrible. The remote is slow. I should have stayed with Dish Network. Now I am stuck for two years. I should have read these reviews before switching.
(misinformation on ordering)

Your contract is for two years. Walk away and go to Dish. I was a Dish customer for four years. I changed because of the NFL package. Boy am I sorry.
