Crescent Processing company Consumer Review
I am a IRM with Crescent Processing. I recently did a presentation for a merchant who kindly asked me to follow up with him. When I returned he told me that he did some "research" on the internet and told me that he didn't want our service. So, I decided to do... More... (Credit Cards, Finance, Banks)
Once again the case of a underinformed business owner and a bad sales rep. I personally work with (not for) Crescent Processing and can say they are one of the better companies to work with. The computer presentation... yes it's corny, but there's a purpose. Sales is the fastest growing job market in the country and there is a shortage of "good" salespeople. So, the company uses a laptop to help the novice salesperson "learn" how to sell. It also streamlines the paperwork process. What you didn't know is that Crescent makes every rep call the corporate office and have someone there review terms and conditions with the business owner. The business owner must also verbally agree to those terms on this recorded phone call and the rep must leave an up to date copy of the terms and conditions. Because it is already printed it shows you the "standard" terms, but terms can be amended at time of the sale. All of this must be done before the rep can even walk out the door or it's a dead deal. I don't know what you're looking for, but every contract has terms and conditions. There are always rates and fees that aren't "verbally" disclosed. There are always cancellation fees. Check your contract on your cell phone, for example. Or your telephone service, internet service, any agreements you may have with any vendors. I'm not mad, it's just funny how business owners wanna make money but get mad when others make money from them. Think about what I just said and see if ANY other merchant service provider has their sales reps go through those procedures before they consider to even process an application. That guy Doug was probably a newbie and you shook him up because you "know so much." (No Contract)
I'm sorry to hear that. Are you a client or an agent. I'm just an agent myself. Maybe I can help clarify some things or even help you get what you need done. (smallbusinessguy)
Hey, I just read your review. I understand your frustration. No matter how good a program, pre-set appointments suck! All they do is call lead lists. You can sell them, but you've gotta have skill and be willing to put up with a lot of bull. But, I have a proposition. I actually started working with Crescent about a year and a half ago. I did so well that they gave me a "raise" this past November. They put me on what they call the "Master Agent" program. Basically, I don't have to run appointments. I do my own thing. They almost doubled my commissions! I get paid the same whether I sell credit service or the whole shabang. This is the deal... if you still wanna work, you can work with me. The difference is I'll pay you $300 no matter what services you sell. Our only obligation is to write the sale and activate the machine. I'll train you and give you support. You can call me for a third party close if you want. Plus, I won't babysit you. I'll do my best to make you into a "real" salesperson. I don't know what you expect from a sales job, but it isn't easy. I've worked with a couple merchant services companies and Crescent has the best platform. Their sales program is a little elementary, but that's because there's so much competition in this industry. There's 1000's of ISO's in the U.S. alone. And we're behind the game compared to the rest of the world. There's countries where people have smart card chips in their cell phones! Anyways, if this is half way interesting to you contact me @ nicknowlin@helloworld.com. Hope to hear from you. (banquer)
Hi Keleigh. I don't use this service a lot, but something told me to check it out. I know it's been awhile since this post and I hope things are going well for you. If you're still looking for an opportunity I have one for you. I still work with Crescent. I did so well that they gave me a promotion! I'm hiring right now. The difference with working with me is that there's no pre-set appointments, which is actually a good thing. I pay $300 per sale. You will get paid 3-5 days after you write a sale. This the average time it takes to process app and send out equipment. I will provide training and personal support. Again, I hope all is well, but if you're still looking for an opportunity I would love to hear from you. You can reach me @ nicknowlin@helloworld.com. Hope to hear from you. (wannaworkhard)
Hello sir/mam? I usually don't respond to comments like yours, in fact, I'm not much of a blogger. However, your comment touched me. For reasons, unknown to me, you feel the need to personally insult me. Whatever credentials you have in regards to merchant services I'm sure they're valid. To question mine based on a few silly blogs in definitely unmerited. If you happen to be one of the many business owners that have been taken advantage of, I'm sorry. This is an very unregulated industry in terms of the way each company charges for their services, and yes, many sales people don't fully disclose (verbally) all their rates and fees. In fact, it's very common practice in several other industries as well (ie. cell phone service). So any business savvy business owner should read the application and terms and conditions before he/she signs anything. In case you're wondering, as a sales rep, I fully disclose all fees that the company I represent charges. Sometimes it's a hassle, but in the end my clients appreciate the honesty and I EARN their business. If you are a sales rep, I hope whoever you work with takes care of you. And yes, in order to earn that kind of money, one must sell more than 8 accounts per month. I happen to average between 15-20. Currently about 25% of those come from referrals, and growing. To date I haven't lost any accounts and no one feels ripped off. If in the future you feel like personally insulting me, you can call. My number is posted on my profile. Lastly, if you feel that someone must attain a certain level of formal education to be successful in life you have accepted a terrible lie. Much success to you in whatever it is you do. (dodi)
Wow! I'm sorry to read about your bad experience. I'm actually a rep for Crescent myself. I've personally never experienced that from any of my clients. I don't know what can be done about the $60 bucks, and as a sales rep, those type of things really are out of our hands. Don't know if it helps, but I've worked for other processors and we're the only one that collects a processing fee after a committment. Typically the average processing/applications fees I've seen range from $100 - $150. They're also collected up front. The only time I've known for them to be waived is 1. out of desperation or 2. if you purchase equipment. If you buy equipment, the profit made far outweighs a measly $200 app fee. And last I knew, Crescent doesn't sell equipment. I know anytime you feel scammed it hurts, but really, if you don't get $60 bucks back I've seen and heard of much worse. Oh, you said you didn't want to commit to anything, but as a rep I know that we comfirm sales from our appointments and also have to submit a filled and signed application plus a voided check before we ever ship our equipment. If you were that unsure, why did ever let things get that far? Selah (Processing Fee Scam)
Hey, I appreciate the comment. It's good to know that there are others out there that can view things with a proper perspective. Don't know what you do for a living, but as long as your vision is clear I know you'll be successful. Be blessed. (jchaz)

Hi. I respect your comment. I am not replying to argue, but rather to try and help. I have no idea about what kind of business you own, your sales volume, or the way you take cards (ie. swiped, keyed, internet, etc.). I can say that those factors do determine the way any processing company would handle your transactions. To ensure that your money is deposited in 48 hours and not 72 call customer service and request they deposit in 48. If you take debit cards, and can swipe them/have them present at the time of sale, request pin based service. The money on these transactions is deposited at the time of sale, a few minutes lag time, and cannot be disputed. You also are not charged a discount percentage. If you take a lot of cards over the phone, request a MOTO account separate from your normal account. This account is designed for those type of transactions. The rates are cheaper than the mid qualified rates of a normal account and their authorizations will not be questioned. I don't know how long you've been processing with us, but until a processing company can gauge your normal sales volume all sales over $1000.00 will be questioned. They are not picking on you, it's just that with today's economy there is a lot of fraudelent activity going on and EVERYONE is precautious. The only way to receive funds on credit card sales faster than 48 hours if the bank that works with your processing company also handles your checking account. I can understand your frustrations with our industry as a business owner, I talk to you guys 5 days a week. I assure you that our processing company is very reputable and will do it's best to serve you well. I hope that what I've shared helps. Be blessed. (experiencedowner)
