We are trying to connect and HP C4280 Series printer to a Lenovo laptop product 0768-A85. The USB cable with the HP Photosmart printer should go direct to a USB slot on the laptop but when configured and the SW driver installed the printer does not communicate with the laptop.

The port selected by the setup was lpt1, should this be overridden to designate a USB slot? Do we reconfigure and reinstall the driver? Is there a separate USB cable required that is different than the one supplied with the printer
