Direct TV is awful - Awful Customer Service

It has been one month since I ordered Direct TV . At the time I ordered, I was quoted a price of $35/month (with credits). I was told it would cost $19.95 for S&H and that was the only startup costs. Installation was scheduled for last Thursday. The guy shows up and says it will actually cost $150 unless I want him to drill holes through my hardwood floors. After getting upset about this, I tell him to proceed with installation in the 4 rooms. After working for 2-3 hours, he announces he can only get service in 2 rooms. I tell him this is unacceptable. He disconnects everything and leaves. I called Direct TV that night and they had no idea the installation had not been completed. AFter being on the phone for almost 2 hours with John, I finally get another date for Saturday for an "experienced technician" and John tells me to call back after installation and they will give me additional credits for all of the hassle. Saturday, the installer comes and spends 10-5 at the house, but he finally gets it working in all 4 units. Also, he tells me it will cost an additional $60 to be able to get full DVR (record and watch another channel at the same time). I tell him forget it, so I only have minimal DVR. I was so happy to finally have Direct TV, I didn't worry about calling back to get the "additional credits" John referred to. Well, today, I see my credit card has been charged for $19.95 plus $76.61. I immediatly called and after again waiting, I reach a customer service rep who is useless. He explains that yes the first bill is 76.61 and then "some time in the future, I will see the $43 credit initially agreed upon appear." I explain that this makes no sense, but he says that the computer always charges the full ammount and that maybe next month the credits will appear to reflect the $35 I was quoted. This was unacceptable. At this point, I also mention the "additional credits" John had offered to me. The rep says he can't give those b/c those were offered by someone in the technical dept. Unbelievable! I ask to be transferred to someone with more authority. After waiting and waiting and waiting, I finally decided I cannot waste any more of my life with Direct TV, so I hang up. As soon as my contract is up, I will cancel Direct TV. I hope that people read this so they can know about the poor customer service and deceptive advertising techniques used by Direct TV. This is an awful company!
