worst company/customer service EVER - U-verse internet and phone

U-Verse was installed a month ago. Since.... problems... problems... problems! I went to the ATT store to have the service hook up to my house since the web site was not given me all the infos I needed and could not contact U-verse via phone (The automated voice was telling me there was not enough agent so I would have to call back!!! I should have just let it go).

I originally said yes to the bundle (tv/phon/internet) but after reading the reviews about the tv and the lack of HD channels I decided to cancel the Tv portion of it. The install was supposed to be for free with the bundle... and they don't make you sign anything.. so when I call to cancel I ask her if it was o.k to cancel the tv... the representative said there was no problem. So the install went well and everything work fine...for 30 minutes. The VOIP from U-verse has a worst reception then my cell phone (att service) and I signed up for the 12mbps internet service ... half of the time I get only 5mbps (with just one laptop on the service).

So I called the customer service to look at my line... they tried to fix it and they ask me to clear out the history for my web browser (safari). So I did. Still the same problem. In the meantime I receive the first bill. There was a charge of 149$ for installation fee. Nobody ever told me about installation ... and when I talk with U-verse billing, the rep told me that was a verbal agreement and there was no way for them to erase the fees. I never agreed to anything... nobody ever told me there will be an install fee. To make the matter worst they told me, they were not required to do so!!! Since I went to the ATT store I never sign anything I did not have any paper in hand letting me know the install fee if you are not taking the bundle.

To make the matter worst... they sent a tech to my house... that hated ATT, and said that the U-verse customer service is the worst. The tech did change the router... but I am still having a speed of 5mbps. All of my phones (cells and home) and my internet is with ATT... have been for 10 years. You would think that they would not want to loose a customer that never made any trouble. But no. So now I am looking for a new Telecom. Try to look on the web to see which one as the best quality of service... so I don't need customer service. So for the ones that are looking to change for U-Verse... just don't ... It is a big mistake and it is going to give you headaches like you cannot imagine. I read about it before going for it... and I should have trusted my reading!!!!
