Well, I've written extensively about the ineptitude and down-right dishonesty associated with Direct TV representatives in the past. It comes from the top and filters to the bottom. My receiver went out and customer service wants to charge me over $ 20 to send another one. I didn't drop it, abuse it...just one day it didn't work. The customer "service" said that if I'd only paid the monthly "insurance" fee, I could have gotten another one for free. Sure and that monthly fee would have cost me well over the cost of the reciever by now. So basically, they have no incentive to make sure their recivers have longevity. If it stops working, you pay!!! I advise everyone I know, don't do business with direct TV. They are total crooks. Why doesn't the attorney generals office of more states, get involved. What Direct TV does is so calculated and unfettered. Notice the same complaints over and over again!! Doesn't anyone have any authority over them? As I look at the list below of the problems with Direct TV I've had the following over the past 13 months: Bait and swith, billing problems, sending me a DVR that I didn't order and then trying to extend the contract based on that, poor customer service. They are by far the worst company I've ever dealt with in my many years of a consumer.
