I had and still have worst experience with this bank. I opened their credit card to pay for my grandmother's ticket from Europe you US and I have regretted it ever since. Constantly bogus charges for the services I did not requested. When I call to find out what is it they charging me for, they answer in horrible accent that is barely understandable as English.
I am a foreigner myself who became a naturalized US Citizen and I know I have an accent but those customer support people can barely speak English and it's impossible to understand what they say. Furthermore when I asked them to redirect me to the manager or someone who speaks English they just hang up on me.
I am looking into closing my account with them period! I paid off their credit card and looking forward to not have to worry about new bogus fees for who knows what and overcharge fees as a result of them enrolling me into something that I did not sign up.

I never had such a bad experience with any of my credit card companies as with this one.
My advice to anyone who thinking about having card with them - please for the love of your own inner peace and future of your good credit don't do that!!!

Every month bogus charges for something I did not enroll into like: "personal acct pro elite" and "TLG just for me" 192.00 in total, not to mention all of the over the limit charges because of those bogus crap that they enroll me into without my permission.

I called to close those programs that they enroll me into out off pure desperation just to stop charges and even then they tried to pursue me not to close them.
Bottom line: a lot of anxiety, constant stress because you don't know what next month they will enroll me into and how much they will over charge me for it. Incredible hassle to deal with and no intelligent life on the end of the phone line. I personally gave up on them and just paid all the crap they illegally charge me for just to avoid dealing with them and crippling my credit. I always pay on time and keep my credit in good standing but with this card, I lost my sense of inner peace and faith that they can build a foundation for good credit for me as they promised in the beginning. HSBC are liars and thieves who prey on simple hard working everyday people. Shame on HSBC!
