I have atempted 3 times now to get my snow thrower repaired from the service center in Madison, Wi. First they replaced a bunch of stuff I just wanted a price on then they didn't actually fix the problem of a gas leak and it took a week longer to get it back than it was supposed to. I just forked out another 100.00 a month ago to get it ready for this winter. I had to use it yesterday for the first time and it runs like crap and is still leaking gas!! I hate throwing things away but I know I won't go back there for anything ever again.

December 15, 2007 I purchased a 2 stage 6 speed Craftsman Snowthrower from the Sears store in the Eastowne Mall, in Madison, WI. I also purchased the extended warranty. I used it five times and it wouldn't start. The service repairman came out (between the hours of 8 to 5) and said it needed a new short block. They ordered one put it on and then it needed a carburator, they ordered that. After they fixed that they had to come back and replace something else. This 2008 season I used it three times, and it stopped running. I called the repair center and they sent the serviceman out. He said it needed a short block. I said you put a shortblock on a brand new snowthrower last year. They put it on and it won't work, the machine needs an entire new motor. And the manager said they don't have any, but will send another short block. I have called written letters etc. Sears gave me another year of extended warranty. I have a horrible driveway and if someone comes to snowplough it cost $75.00. I haven't been able to understand why no one at Sears is able to understand that a brand new snowthrower shouldn't have to have a shortblock or anything else after five uses. They say oh we are so sorry, but you have a warranty. (little bit of screwing the warranty compnay going on do you suppose)?
