On monday the april 6th 2009 called sears home service repair tech to get an appointment to fix my panasonic plasma tv TH-42PX60U . THEY FIXED THE APPOINTMENT FOR 8 TH APRIL AND SAID the tech will be there between 8am to 5 pm woww thats a very long wait time .

Any way he came at ARROUND 3:30 pm evening and OPEN THE BACK COVER OF THE TV AND WENT OUTSIDE AND BROUGHT HIS CELL PHONE AND MADE A CALL WHICH LASTED FOR ALMOST HALF AN HOUR ON WHICH HE ENQUIRED ABOUT THE HISTORY OF PANASONIC TH-42PX60U PROBLEMS . AND AFTER THAT HE TOOK HIS LAPTOP AND I ASKED WHAT HAPPENED HE SAID THE POWER SUPPLY IS GONE . I SAID WILL THERE BE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE FUSES HE SAID U CAN TRY REPLACING BUT THEY GOES ONLY WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM IN THE BOARD . YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE POWER SUPPLY BOARD . ANY WAY THE CONCLUSION HERE IS IF THE TECH JUST NEED TO ASK THE OTHER TECH ABOUT THE HISTORY THEN WHY THEY SEND HIM TO LOOK AT IT . HE ESTIMATED 600 DOLLARS TO REPAIR IT. I SAID I WILL BUY A NEW ONE INSTEAD OF REPAIRING IT .
AND AS THE TERMS , REGULATIONS AND POLICIES OF THE SEARS TECHNICIANS HOME SERVICE I PAID $112.00 FOR JUST TO COME HOME AND LOOK AT IT .

Should have purchased a protection agreement. You can get a full refund within the first year even after having the preventative maintenance performed. (Software updates are important)
