I purchased a Walmart money VISA card on June 6th, 2009 by placing $100.00 cash on it and paying their $3.00 fee. Afterward, because they required too much personal information which they didn't explain before taking my money, I cancelled the card and was assured I'd receive a full refund within 7 to 10 business days. Today is July 9th and I haven't received my refund. Also, because the GE Bank located in El Paso Texas actually are the ones who issue the Walmart money card, you cannot contact the bank once you've actually activated or cancelled the card. I believe this bank is based in India somewhere and is not a legitimate bank in the U.S. The service manager in Walmart said she would try to get my refund back for me but she has no authority to do so through Walmart and doubtful she will be able to help me. In other words, I think I've been scammed out of my money...take heed people...don't use Walmart to get their money card. It's not their card at all and I've heard horror stories from others that they've lost much of their money on the card and some who've lost vital personal information by offering up to this GE Bank.
