poor customer service - Bissell model 4104

I purchased a bissell 4104 in Feb. of 2009 within 3 weeks the cord showed signs of wear. When I contacted Bissell they asked me to take the vacuum to a local service center. The service center informed me that the product was purchased from a big box store and is junk, it didn't surprise him and that they wouldn't cover the cord. Sure enough Bissell responded that it wasn't covered by warranty and it would need to be repaired at my cost. I've asked and talked to what they say is every supervisor at Bissell and get the same response. Apparently the local repair company is right, their $180 vacuum is junk. I am highly dissatisfied with their service.
