ON 05-03-08 WENT SHOPPING AT BIG LOTS 15755 MAIN ST HESPERIA; CALIFOR
NIA 92340. STORE PH#(760)956-7153 STORE MGR NAME IS JOHN.I found a computer mouse on sale for $8.99 model 800 DPI new in package.I ENDED UP FINDING A COMPUTER MOUSE THAT HAD THE ENTIRE TOP CUT OFF AND THEN TAPED CLOSED WITH SCOTCH TAPE.i took this up to register and showed package obviously had been opened and reclosed, for this reason i asked for lower price,why buy an open one for $8.99 when unopened $8.99 manager on duty whos name i was told was rosa something,so i put it back on shelf and bought a new one feeling manager not tobright! So when returned home called store, asked for managers name before calling corporate to complain, a person claiming to be new manager just coming on duty michelle, told me mgr i dealt with just left.This person michelle was polite said come back in today or tommorrow, i understand we will take care of you with discount on the one i bought new already ,she said would leave note for store mgr and take open one from shelf and lower price.I drove back to store next day asked for store mgr john, he had no idea who i was or what purchase i was talking about, i asked if i could show him computer mouses on sale that i was talking about, i told him about open package mouse , he says oh this one , it was laying on shelf still where i left it when i put it back originally still $8.99 by the way.I then said why would i by this open package mouse for same price as these unopened ones he said it doesn't matter i have 30days to return i said why would i take chance have pay for gas to come back again if didnt work anyway he then proceeded to tell me i would open package anyway so no differnce, thats when i said forget it i will just call corporate like i was going to any way. feelings he could of gave 2 bucks off would have saved customer,, customers family and, friends will not shop that storeagain.I DID CALL CORPORATE OFFICE THEY SEEMED TO AGREE MGR WAS WRONG SAID DISTRICT MGR WILL CALL ME WITHIN 48 HOURS WILL WAIT AND SEE.PLZ CALL THIS STORE MGR AND LET HIM KNOW IT IS WRONG TO SELL USED AND OR OPEN PRODUCTS AT SAME PRICE AS NEW AND OR UNOPENED MERCHANDISE. Hi, urelx, big lots follow up. within a couple hours after writing this review the district mgr from big lots store in hesperia california called me and once again explained the situation he told me that he backed up his store mgr and said there is no reason he should lower the price either, just policy 30 day rtrn blah blah.So i called coporate again this will be the fourth person that i have to tell, what happend again, anyway i called and and the lady from corporate once again agreed it was not right to charge the same price for items already (open) (used) (damaged)(returned)so she said she couldnt do anything at a store level right now but would send me a $5 gift certifacate and APPOLOGIZED FOR THE STORE #04451. I am ok with getting gift certificate and will still shop at big lots, but will travel to one a little bit farther away from now on or until john store mgr(760)956-7153 no longer works at store 04451.. now john for the common sense part, had you or your staff just taken a dollar off i would have taken it, instead you cost your corporate office time, which is money, you cost a loyal customer time = $ and on top of that you cost your company $4.00 more than needed, you cost your store incom from my family , my neighbors and so on (duh).In ending, michelle who i believe is a regular employee handled the situation on the phone with me originally, hadled the situation better than either mgr did (rosa)or(john)plz call this mgr and let him know it is wrong to sell open items for the same price as unopen items. store mgr john big lots hesperia california 15755 main street 92345 phone#(760)956-7153 ty . let them know how you feel about it.
