You get home from the store (20 miles away) to find you've been given the wrong chicken order. What do you expect when you call to complain? You state your case and are astounded to hear, "Ma'am, where do you live?" You tell the courteous voice on the other end. Response: "We'll have your chicken out to you in 30 minutes. Please keep our mistake at no cost ." I was not dreaming. They did exactly that with smiles and apologies. Ever have your car break down in a supermarket parking lot? Ever have the manager and a clerk (giving up a break) help for 20 minutes until you could start? I have. At Publix . This attitude and level of service are everyday stuff at my Ladies Island, South Carolina Publix. Not NY, you say? Darn straight.
