Wrong remote - Sony RDR-VX560

We purchased a Sony RDR-VX560(DVD/VCR combo)from HHGregg in March which was a floor model. They sold this to us as such at 199.95 which we were told was a good price. You can purchase one brand-new on the internet cheaper. Since we also purchased a big screen TV at the same time, we purchased this one because it did dubbing from VCR cassette to DVD. We did not realize that they had given us the wrong remote until our son from out-of-town tried to hook it up for us & program it. He told us that HHGregg had given us the wrong remote. When we tried to return the whole thing today, the customer service person wanted to know why it took so long for us to realize it was the wrong remote. We tried to tell him but he wouldn't listen, just tried to argue. He told us it was too late. He would not even try to get someone to look in "the back" as the original salesman told us was where they put all remotes from the floor. We can purchase a new remote from the internet for $83.95. That puts the cost for this whole unit at around $300 which is way too much. The customer service person was very rude & did not try to placate us at all. We will be looking for a refrigerator, washer & dryer in the not too distant future. You can be assured that we will never buy anything from HHGregg in the future and we are passing this along to all our friends.

WOW! THIS IS REDICULS ON YOUR PART. 4 MONTHS! IF A COMPANY HAS A 14 DAY RETURN POLICY AND YOU WANT TO EXCHANGE 4 MONTHS LATER.......................GO BUY A UNIVERSAL REMOTE FOR 10 BUCKS AND STOP THE WIMPERING
