Worst Service Ever - HP Printer

What the heck is wrong with HP?!?

I received a new printer for christmas and began installing. The reference guide said that any version of Windows since Windows 2000 would work fine. Yet, when installing a message stated taht you had to have Vista or better for the printer to work. So, I called the helpline.

First, I could not understand ANYTHING they were saying - they actually had to transfer to their manager after 4-5 minutes. Then, I was transferred to 3 different departments (totaling 35 minutes of on and off hold).

Finally I got to the right department to ask my simple question:

"Is there a way to make this printer work with Windows XP since I cannot upgrade the OS as it is my work computer"

A simple yes or no would have been fine.

Instead, for the 4th time, I had to give them my s/n for my computer and printer, and sit on hold for an incredible for 15 minutes. He then came back and asked my name again, and my email. And then he told me my computer was under warranty.

WTF - that was not my question!!

Finally, 1 hr and 30 minutes into the call, he offered to hook into my computer, fix the problem and 60 seconds later he was done.

HP - thank you for spending 1hr and 45 minutes to answer a question that should have been answered in 10 min max - even with waiting on hold.

Will I buy HP again? Heck no!

I prefer wireless printers because it is easy to attach as well as save a lot of energy.
