Why wont car rental companies allow you to choose the car you want.

if it is not busy and their is an opportunity then why not be able to say i want the blue one instead of the white one or this brand instead of that one.

it is my money.

I am the customer. when i go to a restaurant i can order what i want. When i shop i can buy what i want. why not with a car.

This is one of these ridiculous outdated business practices that destroy companies and someone will figure out how to allow users some choice and they will increase business at the expense of the rigid ones who have morons manning the counter.

Think about it.

I rented an economy car from Budget on a trip booked through Orbitz to FLL.I decided to extend my stay from 4 days to 7 days and I knew I would have to pay more for my flight & car changes but the costs were astronomic. I am not an experienced traveler but the extra 3 days cost me $507 for the car and $573 for the flight. My original cost was $480 for round trip & car. This is just a warning to you unsuspecting travelers to double check the price of any changes as they already have your credit card and are happy to gouge you. Don't trust or assume anything while traveling.
