I have just one question. Why does Ashley Furniture claim they're #1? I have a complaint about two pieces of furniture that I have purchased from the Ashley Furniture Store on Bunsen Parkway in Louisville, KY.

My first complaint is a on a herringbone/sage sofa (Item #6811238) which I bought in Dec., 2004. The sofa "squeaks" (like a board is loose) when some sits down which is quite embarrassing especially when company comes to visit.

My second complaint is about the pedestal table (Item #D224-12T) which I purchased in Feb., 2007. The oak finish is coming off the table top in small pieces exposing the bare wood(?). Friends and family who visit ask, "Is this the table you just purchased from Ashley Furniture. I answer yes, of course. Embarrassed once again.

I decided to call Ashley's customer service line and expressed my complaints to Jennifer and after looking up my account all she could say was soooorrrry. There was nothing Ashley Furniture could do because the furniture is more that a year old and I didn't purchase the extended warranty. According to my invoice on the sofa, I did purchase Comp Coverage $2001-$2500 for $209. Could you explain what this covers please? Jennifer could not.

I have four rooms with pieces of Ashley Furniture in them; living room, dining room, family room and the pub table in the kitchen and my husband and I have spent more than $6000.00. Please know that there are only the two of us living in our home so there isn't any great wear and tear on our furniture.

We are long time supporters of Ashley Furniture and look forward to our shopping experiences, including the coffee, cookies, water, etc. but we feel that these incentives do not compensate for the value of the furniture. Positive that I can not be the "only" one in North America with this problem so how can Ashley Furniture claim their #1?
