I, too, thought this would be a fantastic product. So I went on-line and googled for reviews of the product. At $10 for 2 sets of the lids, it seemed too good to be true. All the reviews I found were negative. Not of the product, but he company selling them. It's really too bad that the mfg. of the product winds up using these scam companies to sell their product. I had the same problem of automated order that bumps up your order until it's 5 times what you expect. Yes, the product does arrive, yes the product is good, but you;ve paid way too much and it such a huge hassle to try to cancel or get your money back (which is just what they are counting on) most people just give up and chalk it up to lesson learned.
Hopefully some reputable sales and marketing group will pick this up, probably at a bit higher price, but I'll gladly wait until then. TRUST ME, PEOPLE, THERE'S NO FREE LUNCH!!! Or, if you prefer, IF IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY ISN'T!

Truly A Scam and this is how it works. They give you one set free for every set you order BUT charge $7.95 for every set they send to you.
I ordered three sets and my shipping costs were $47.70!!!!
DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT or you will have nothing but problems.

I always look for any informercial items that I want at placesb like Bed Bath and Beyond or similar. That way you don't have to pay for shipping and if it SUCKs you can just take it back!

I, too, called to order Smart Lidz and ended up with an order for $10 worth of merchandise and $23.85 in shipping. There's no way to cancel your order at the time, so I eventually got hold of someone at Customer Service who said "sorry, it's already shipped". I refused the shipment and waited for a refund. When it didn't show up after 3+ weeks I disputed the charge with my bank. The company may charge you again but just keep disputing it. It doesn't cost you to dispute but it costs the company time (and therefore money) to keep putting through the charges. The product may be good (I've seen several reviews that indicate otherwise) but the company is a complete scam.

i never fall for infomercials. this was my first and LAST. all i wanted were the smart lids but i had to continually listen to further informercials before the system finally allowed me to complete my order AT WHICH TIME THE PRICE WAS MUCH HIGHER than it shoudl have been. i couldnt cancel! the system wouldnt allow it and hung up on me. i tried to call back immediatley to cancel only to find that i had to wait 24 to 72 hours and then my order would appear in their system. i cancelled. that was 8 weeks ago. still havent received my refund. you cant get anyone on the phone or online. i am pissed and out 50 bucks!
