Upgrades? - Microsoft Windows Xp

I could be here all day with complaints about Microsoft . I have XP loaded on my PC and it has worked fine for me for years. Well that is until Microsoft shot down one of their "upgrades", I think it was Service pack 3. After about 10 minutes of "installing" it I get a "Access denied" error and the update starts backing out for another 10 minutes. Then to my horror it tells me XP might not be working right due to the failed install and that I should repair it. So I go to repair it and good ol' Microsoft won't let me because it says I have a newer version installed than what is on the disk.

I know it's my fault for not buying Vista. Microsoft isn't happy because I didn't buy onto the "pretty face" and now they want to force me over.

So what am I to do? de-install the OS and load from scratch? YEAH RIGHT!

What is even more frustrating is they "say" that they offer free customer support in this area. Just try and get ANY support from these guys, especially free support. Fat chance. I just got a rep who kept telling me to search the Microsoft site. They couldn't even give me the link or address to the help I needed. Whay do they pay these people?

If it was for business needs I truly believe everyone would switch to a MAC.
