Unicel Cell Phone bad billing procedures

I finally joined the cell phone world with a cell phone as a christmas gift. We signed up for a flat rate service. We have only used or tried to use our phones for emergencys only. Since Jan 1, I've had two emergencys and both times unicel has shut off our service. The phones were paid for at time of purchase with a service agreement and activation. Unicel keeps billing us for the cost of the phones, late charges. I sent my receipt in for the $100 each rebate ( should of sent them a copy). I received the rebate. They continue to bill us for the cost of the phones. I have paid my bill on time each month but still I'm being charged for late fees and the cost of the phone. I contacted the retailer, who sent the money to unicel. Unicel lost the money but still cashed the check. I want out of my agreement and unicel to get it right. Does or has any one else had similiar problems? Help! This has been a nightmare.

Last year i had abruptly moved to walla walla, Washington where my boyfriends had lived. Things were hard for me and i had no easy way of being able to get in contact with my family.Therefore i decided to get a cell phone thinking i could get a good plan and be able to talk to my family wherever and whenever.So my boyfriend and I both got phones. Asked many questions such as if we were to move back to my hometown in michigan (had been thought about) if we could still get service....didnt seem to be a problem to the woman selling the phones. We bought the phones and yes i was able to talk to my family.Well a month or so passed and i was having a hard time with my life and decided i had to move home. WE went to unicel to tell the woman at unicel my condition. I told her that i would like to change the address or get the plan transferred or whatever i would have to do at that point.She told us that we would not have service and there was nothing that she could do to help us.Cancelling the plan would be hundreds of dollars for each phone.She had no sympathy what so ever and should have told us this fact before we spent 200 or so dollars on these phones and contract.So here my boyfriend and i are in michigan without our phones or phones at all for that matter...because they ruined my credit.I get a call from LDG financial Services saying that unicel has filed a claim against me for $995.oo or i will summoned to court.Which i will go to court if i must and tell my story. I absolutely do not have that sort of money, if i did i wouldnt be in a position like this right now.I am only 20 yrs old, i am trying to get my life on track, trying to pay my bills, and go to school. I dont have a job at the moment and my boyfriend only has a part time job, and in the process of finding another one. we live in a small town, it only has so much to offer. I hope unicel gets what they deserve i have read many complaints on this company. I hope that we the people can do something to stop this.
