UPS provides poor delivery service ... FedEx and USPS are better! - Poor delivery service! - 2-day

We are in Portland, OR and the weather has been poor. I paid for 2-day delivery with guaranteed arrival today, December 24.

Through the online tracking service, I was able to see that both purchases arrived at UPS Portland at noon yesterday, December 23. It is now after 5p on guaranteed delivery date, December 24, and nothing. I rechecked the UPS tracking site and my delivery has now been moved to two days from now, the day AFTER Christmas!

I understand that weather is bad, however, FedEx and the U.S. Post Office (USPS) have been making deliveries since yesterday, and USPS is even making deliveries on Christmas Day to make sure everyone gets their deliveries in time. If FedEx and USPS have found a way to meet their delivery promises, then why isn’t it important enough to UPS to find a way to do the same?!!

Had a FedEx package loop back and forth between Orlando and San Francisco for a month before it was finally returned to my shipping address looking like it was mauled by a Tasmanian Devil. Sent replacement gift via UPS to the same exact address in SF and it arrived fine. Shipped the damaged box to FedEx President via UPS with claim for damaged goods. Fed Ex sux!!!

I ordered a certificate on 5/21, paid to have it shipped air/overnite, and it was received in Seattle on 5/22. I made it a point to stay home all day,(this being an extremely important document, and no UPS. Today is 5/23 @ 2:00 pm and nothing yet.
In an attempt to see what happened, I put my tracking # on line and suddenly, no information is available. WHATS UP WITH THIS UPS??? Noo more UPS for me or my company, I can guarantee you that. From now on it will be Fedex or USPS. Shove your "service" UPS!!!F

Poor service all around by UPS. I have two packages one overnight and the other 2nd day air both ordered on Friday Dec 18th. One was scheduled for delivery Monday Dec 22nd and the other 24th. Needless to say I still don't have my packages. Weather issues is one thing but just not caring is another. Everyone except UPS was delivering in Portland and even UPS was delivering just not residential. Rather than making an effort by putting in extra hours or working the weekend they opt to just keep the package hostage. They wouldn't let me pick it up because no delivery attempt had been made,customer service was a joke and would take a whole comment on it's own to cover it,and to top it off when they finally updated my tracking on Dec 26th they said I was a business and was closed for the holiday and would attempt delivery when i was open. I didn't realize i was running a business out of my apartment and there was no notice on my door. Come on UPS if you're going to lie you should come up with something better than that. Bottom line my main problem is the fact that when UPS messes up they make no effort to correct it and they don't care that they messed up. Something has to change about that. That's just poor business practices. The company needs that poster that says, "An error doesn't become a mistake unless you refuse to correct it."

Here is an update ... Packages didn't arrive AGAIN today, Dec. 26. I called UPS and was told that because of the weather (which is not a challenge for USPS or FedEx, by the way), they can't provide any information on delivery status on estimated delivery date. Nice.

i hate ups. They are delivering packages to our business anywhere from 7-8pm long after we close for the day at 5. I have to pay an employee to sit for 3 hrs every night waiting to see if they are even going to deliver. I refuse to use them for outbound and have chosen fed ex. Ups employees are mean, nasty and have a care less attitude
