This company professes to be in the extermination business. Our building contains seniors and disabled persons. Starting in 2004 Coach Exterminators was called in to exterminate once a month. The techs came sprayed everything but roaches. They have nearly killed the residents once when pressure was brought to bare for their poor service.
The situation got so bad at one point residents were reporting roaches freezing in their tracks when confronted, they have now decided to ride the elevators instead of walking the distances from floor to floor. After all our building has 14 floors. Why walk when you can ride?
The roaches aren't afraid of the residents because most of them know the residents can't catch them. The roaches love extermination day...the best meal they get all month!!
The thing we keep telling the housing authority is that they are forcing us to violate our leases because we have unauthorized guest living in our apartments. Some of us want to do what is required of us by making management aware of our guest but it's hard to get them to slow down long enough to get their names, birthdates, and social security numbers. You see they are required to go through a background check.
Then we are wondering will this drive up our rent?
On the other hand however, maybe the roaches are authorized. The manger seems to love this company. For three years she has kept them under contract servicing our building.
When the company was confronted their comment was that the residents have clutter and unclean apartments. Yet 140 plus residents have never seen a roach die from any action other than stomp, squish, bam, and old age. In three years of service roaches were killed only once in September 2006 when they were under the demand of the executive director.

The up side of this ordeal if you can find one is the roaches have taken the committment of the housing authority and HUD quite serious. They have affordable, comfortable, safe housing.
