Gems TV Review

These other posts aren't being Fair & Honest - Customer Service/Return

I've shopped with many of the TV gemstone networks: JTV, QVC, The Jewelry Channel, and GemsTV. After reading the reviews that are posted here, I can only think that most of these comments must have been made by complete morons! GemsTV is totally upfront with ALL of their policies. They make it crystal clear not to remove the tag if you are considering returning it. They even make the tag out of thick, stretchy plastic so that the only way it can come off is if you purposely CUT the tag off.

To me, these reviews sound like whiney little idiots who couldn't follow instructions if they were tattoed to their forehead.

I bought a ring from GemsTV - an oval aquamarine surrounded by smaller aquamarines. A couple of weeks after I bought it, I looked down at the ring and saw that one of the small stones was missing. I called and was told they couldn't replace the ring as they didn't have any more, but they offered to repair it or return my money. I asked them to repair it only if they could match the stones - that I didn't want to be able to look at the ring and know which gem had been lost. There were no accusations that I must have done something to make the stone fall out; no problems with their customer service whatsoever. I received the ring back, good as new and in less than two weeks.

When I first started ordering from them, I had to send back two of the items I ordered (they were much smaller than I thought they would be). But I have been happy with my other purchases. And I have noticed that in recent months they are much better about showing the items against a ruler so you know what size the item is and they seem to have reined back their hosts so they aren't making outlandish claims about a piece of jewelry, then using the phrase "in my opinion", so GemsTV could have claimed that they never made such a statement. Anyway, no one who knew anything about jewelry would believe half of that hosts like Victoria said anyway. I also note that they are announcing regularly that the starting price of the item has NOTHING to do with the value of the item, which wasn't always made clear in the early days; but then only an idiot would believe that they were getting a $27,000 ring for $1,500. So, I believe that they are trying to improve, so the customers know what they're getting.

They may be upfront but if your gem is damaged like mine was, they will not let you return it and they will deny that it is on their end, even with the 180 day return policy for damaged goods. We can read but should not have to accept damaged goods, period! If a product is damaged, they should take it back, according to their guarantee but they deny it is damaged and say it isn't on their end! That is not the fault of an idiot buyer who doesn't read the fine print.

I think gems tv are very up front about their returns policy and other channels that sell gems don't give you all the info. and a gem certificate like gemstv do. The prices are so much better than in the high street especially if you want larger ct size gems. Look on their web site, their gemopedia really helps you decide which jewellery to go for and they always tell you if the gems have been treated unlike other outlets.
