Teeth Cleaning Policies - deep cleaning

I have read other reviews of Gentle Deltle and find that they are doing the same to my wife and I.

I selected them through my retirement medical options, mostly because they were least expensive. That is important to us because we are living on a very limited income.

The first thing they did was to tell me it was necessary to go for a cleaning 3 times a year, rather than 2 normally allowed by the insurance plan. They advised both my wife and I we needed deep cleaning.

I found in other complaints, found online, this may or may not be necessary, but we can't afford to go for 2nd opinions.

We were advised that our half of a deep cleaning, based upon our insurance coverance, would be about $1200. Found a 2nd opiniou published on another complaint that this is out of line. To quote: "that the industry standard is to charge $150 - $200 per quadrant, $300 per quadrant in the most expensive of dentist offices". My half would be what is charged in the most expensive offices. That is not Gentle Dentle.

Now the abusive part. My wife just had her teeth cleaned. She was advised to have deep cleaning. She said she could not afford that. They told her not to come back. They will not clean her teeth anymore. I assume I am next, but will change dentists when my wife does.

Does this mean we have to shop around for a dentist that will take us, even if we can't afford deep cleaning?

I was told I need deep cleaning too. I started using Orotec.or Oratec google for it or ..really kills gum bacteria, toothpaste doesnt do it. Also rinsed my mouth in salt water regulatly and floss. Went home to Sydney for a holiday and to my dentist there. He said the gum problem is not as deep as they said and to just keep doing what I'm doing as its working. He is a top dentist. try this if you cant afford. Best Diane

I RAN INTO THE SAME PROBLEM. IN ORDER TO BE SEEN BY THE DENTIST I HAD TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT THAT IF I NEEDED A "DEEP CLEANING" THE DENTIST WOULD NOT DO A CONVENTIONAL CLEANING. IF IT LOOKS LIKE A SCAM---FEELS LIKE A SCAM---SMELLS LIKE A SCAM---
IT IS A SCAM" IN MOST CASES. GUESS WHAT??? THE DENTIST SAID I NEED A DEEP CLEANING FOR $800.00
I FOUND A DENTIST TO DO A REGULAR CLEANING (FOR $83.00). GRANTED, A DEEP CLEANING PROBABLY WONT HURT ANYBODY, BUT TO DENY A PERSON A REGULAR CLEANING I THINK IS CRIMINAL-- VERY SIMILAR TO "BAIT AND SWITCH"
