What on earth is this person talking about? What does she mean by "redline". Sounds simply crazy. I've had nothing but positive experiences at Anthropologie for several years now.

Complaint Text

Please read my previous letter to Anthropologie President Glen Senk.

I've just learned that as an extension of their blacklist to me, my own son, a separate person, has also been red-lined by Anthropologie and Urban outfitters for using the same billing address -- the house in which he was raised and a historical landmark in the city of Glendale -- and he's not allowed to purchase at Anthropologie/Urban Outfitters either. My son is an awarded graphic designer with many credits to his name who works for a major corporation. He has only shopped for presents at these stores. I'm a professional screenwriter. What is going on here? I have requested a copy from Anthropologie of my purchase history and will be complaining to American Express, the card I've used on most if not all of my purchases for the lasy two years -- and MBNA, as well, and send them a copy of all my purchases there --

Although I have not heard from Anthropologie (Urban Outfitters) and its corporate official was rather robotic, I believe that mine is more than a simple dispute over some merchandise. Someone at Anthropologie said something false about me to a member of my family (and who knows who else) and I'm aware they're apparently in the business of red-lining customers AND their relatives by virtue of their family connection regardless of how arbitrary or incorrect their decision -- which is all pretty creepy.

I admit that I was angry (and still am) when I wrote my review. I loved their furniture and have several pieces in my home. I have NEVER had similar problems with any retail store and people are usually very, very nice to me. Since my credit is excellent, and I'm a nice person, good customer service is the sort of thing to which I'm accustomed. In fact, there was a girl at Anthropologie on-line that couldn't be nicer. Nonetheless, I am hurt and mystified by this. I'm also a little afraid of a company that is involved in legal wrangling against other retailers for "copyright infringement." There's also a slander lawsuit. This information can be found on line.
