Sears customer service - Repair door hinge

Scheduled Sears to come repair my Kenmore refrigerator for 4/16/09. Tech took door off, pulled it apart, and then went to his truck to give me a quote for 169.99 + tax + 4.71 for the tiny hinge that needed to be replaced (which I told him was the problem & also typed my problem on their website when I ordered the service. At which point he asked me (after giving me the quote) if I wanted to procede with the repair...had to b/c my door was already off the refrigerator. I contacted Sears and they told me that even though the tech didn't give me a quote ahead of time, that I was still responsible for the charge and they so "generously" gave me a 15% discount..big whoop! I wasn't given the opportunity to decline the service. And Sears actually charges you 65.00 to drive their van to you house. If you accept the service, that should be the labor charge(especially on something as minute as the job that was performed on my refrigerator door. And Newsflash: Job Quotes are done BEFORE service...not after you have ripped the product apart. I will NEVER EVER buy anything from Sears or Kmart, nor will I EVER use their repair services again. Beware if you call them...oh yeah and the hinge that they replaced was 4.71 and after watching the tech, anyone with a brain can replace it...Crooks!!!
