I am appalled at Sears and there Home Improvement Department. In May of 2007 I had my Kitchen done by Sears (New Cabinets, Countertop and Sink). By October of 2007 the countertop started peeling apart. Warranty was still in effect. Called a they sent a rep to look at the damage. It was found the countertop was installed wrong and was not level causing the damage. They stated it would need to be replaced. This was October2007. After not hearing from them for several weeks. I contacted them and contacted them left voice mail and no one would return my calls. Finally in late December 2007 they called and stated the countertop was ordered. By mid January 2008 attempted to contact them again to see when new countertop would be installed. Again they did not return my calls. Finally in early February they called and ask to install it on Feb. 15. Finally that was done. Only problem the wrong backsplash was installed. There was noticable gaps between backsplash and countertop. Which I showed to the contractor. He told me to go and get some caulking and caulk it. I couldn't believe he said that to me. Anyway called Sear's back again. Again after I advised them. They did not get back to me.After numerous phone calls between February and May without any response. I finally got them in May and was advised the backsplash was ordered. I also contacted their complaints department. In order to get them to call me. On May 31 I was advied they would like to schedule the repair for July 6 a Friday. I took the day off from work to be home. By late Friday afternoon on the 6th. No one had come or called. So I called their office to see what was up. I was told by Andrew the they weren't aware anyone was suppose to come and make the repair. Ask to speak to the contract coordinator Larry. He said he wasn't aware either. This was after they scheduled the appointment. Needless to say I was pissed. Told him I had wasted a day off and wasn't happy in not so many words. Said hee would call me back. In an hour or so he called and said the contractor would not be able to make it. But he could have one come on Saturday the 7th. Finally the repairs were made a year and a month after the original installation. Called the home inprovement complaint department updated the whole story and asked if we could get the warranty extended. They said they would be back to me but as of 7/17/08 still no call back. It is my opinion that anyone that is thinking about home improvements not think about having it done by Sears. Probably the worst experience we have ever gone though in purchseing anything. Three thumbs down for Sears.
