Samsung quality of their tvs - 46 in dlp tv

I bought this tv in 3/06. I spent over $2000 on it. 2 weeks ago (mid may 2009) the tv would not turn on. the consumer manual told me to change the lamp. I did so for $165 from a discount house. The new lamp did not fix the problem.

I called Samsung , who would not help me because it was out of warranty. They referred me to 2 local repair shops. These shops both estimated repair costs of a further $500. so here I am with a 3 year old tv that I watch no more than 7 hrs/wk. this will be the only time that I will repair this tv. The next time I will just get a better one.

My purpose in writing is to help someone else from buying one of these tvs. The quality is not there. And then you will be on your own.
