I have lived in Pollock Pines, CA for 20 years hand have tried to shop at the Safeway in town instad of driving another 15 miles to Raleys. The problem is, Safeway in Pollock Pines, has a lot of issues: The produce is so bad, it needs to be pulled from the shelves. Sunday I went to purchase a cucumber and they were all rotten. I mentioned to the clerk all the cucs were rotten, and she went in back to see if there was a fresh one, which there was; the same day, the strawberries were all rotten. I was going to purchase organic blueberries over the summer, and the containers were full of blue and gray mold. These are only a few examples of the horrible produce presented to shoppers and has been going on for years. In fact the Placerville Safeway knows they are letting produce just sit there and rot. I am not only shocked, but disgusted at how much this store is neglected and they are not held to any of Safeway's standards. I think someone should take the time and check out not only the bad produce, expired milk on the shelf, ice cream that is so soft the tops are popping off and expired food throughout the entire store. The employees don't care, if you bring it up to them, they just laugh. What a shame, embarrasement to the community, and incovenience for those that live in the town and have to go another 15 miles just to get fresh produce and food items.
