SCAM -- The Truth About "Minimax"

The owner "P.C. Chabot" is really Peter W. Chabot, a convicted felon who was found guilty of SEC securities fraud and sentenced to time in prison.

Here is the story from Forbes:

"Last year, Peter W. Chabot of Chabot Investments pled guilty to securities fraud in New York's southern district court. Chabot had raised $1.2 million from 14 investors by claiming he was an experienced securities trader who had developed a mathematical model telling him when to buy or short stocks. Between 1999 and 2001, Chabot claimed stupendous results for his theory. But the results were phony, and Chabot had actually used his investors' money for his personal expenses. In February 2002, he was sentenced to 27 months in prison; he also has to pay back the $1.2 million."

More information is on the SEC's website and includes details on the case and his sentencing:

WOW!!
I had such a similar experience! down to getting the analyses that had nothing to do with my work, and having to resend files over and over and over, and them saying that they deleted the files "for security purposes".
I'm going to write a review right now.

Thanks for sharing this information. I hope more step forward and do the same. I haven't gotten an analysis or a refund either, and beginning to think that there may be a lawsuit in the making here.

Yep, it's true. It's a SCAM! I asked for statistical help and P.Chabot, the owner asked me for money upfront. He made me use western union so he could get the money right away. After he got the money, he said he was going on vacation and that he would send me the analysis in a day or two. Then one day, i got an email with bunch of analysis that werent mine. I wrote to him right away and told him that those were not my analysis and he made things up saying that he had gotten the clients mixed up. He said he had sent my analysis to another client and the other client's analysis to me and that he had deleted everything from his computer right after he sent it out. How can a profession company delete everything from their computer right on the day when they send the stuff to the client. This is one of his emails below:

In the interest of not wasting time, I'm going to beblunt. 1.) I believe that you DID receive the file, and thatthis is some type of odd scam to avoid payment bygetting me to return funds you've already sent. If itweren't for a crazy coincidence (that I sent bothfiles to 2 different clients, rushing out of the housethat day), I would not have "caught" this... butapparently an angel was on my side here. 2.) I'm on vacation, and not willing to spend any moretime on this until I return, which will be onWednesday. Unless you can somehow convince me thatyou're not a scammer, I won't be speaking to you then, either. 3.) you should be ashamed of yourself. I spentALOT of time on this project, and returned youWONDERFUL work, for a VERY competitive price. Myreputation for doing quality work is impeccable. Whywould you try to screw me over on this, after I gaveyou such a good deal, and delivered such good work toyou? PC

A BIG TIME SCAMMER! EVERYONE BEAWARE! I did not get my money back, neither did I get MY analysis.
