Rude and doesn't honor coupons - Awful Customer Service

Tired of my DirecTV shutting down, being told I would have to pay for an HDTV box to receive HD service and receiving poor service, I intended to leave DirecTV. I spoke to a customer service rep who, in an attempt to keep us, sent us a coupon for a free PPV movie. We watched the movie but chose to close our account anyway. The bill came with the charge for the movie after we closed the account. We had a credit on our account but also had the coupon for the movie. DirecTV would not honor the coupon because we had closed our account. When I asked, so you are not going to honor the coupon for the movie we were charged for, the rep said "No, not unless you reopen the account with us" He then accused me of "playing games..." with him. I told him I was not playing games with him, I just wanted credit for the coupon I was sent. He got nasty and hung up on me. I still have yet to see the a check for the credit balance. I'm glad I am no longer with DirecTV. I left due to poor customer service and this rep reenforced my opinion.

Direct TV are scammers. They began the services with alot of empty promises. I signed a completed work document upon installation, which they now say it's a contract for 18 months. For 6 months I complained about the poor quality of service. Never got to see a full program without interuption in 6 months. They finally asked me to pay another $5 extra insurance in order to get a tech to my home to correct the problem. The tech leaves and the problem was never corrected. I went through a severe unannounced storm and couldn't even get the news channel.I called them days
later and just cancelled. They tried to charge my credit account $326.14. The fraud dept. called me immediately to verify if I had approved the purchase? They tried to take the money out of my account without being authorized. I called
Direct tv and their response was that the work order was a contract and if I did not reinstate my service with them, I would be charged for service until June of 2010 and they would ruin my credit. I'm taking them to court. I think we should all get together as a group and file a LAW SUIT against them so that the media and the courts become aware of this scam and the violation of peoples rights.
