DirecTV Sunday Ticket Superfan Complaint

Rip Off - Direct Tv Sunday Ticket Superfan

I have been a Direct TV subscriber for more than a decade now. Mostly because of their monopoly on the NFL Sunday Ticket. Last year I purchased the HD receiver and found that the games were not in HD so I called and ask why. After talking to the Rep. I was given access to HD football games. For this year, I'm told that in order to enjoy game in HD I would have to pay an additional $16 per month. I already pay $6 per month for the HD receiver and $10 per month for HD access fee. That's a total of $32 per month for HD.

My question to the Rep. this time was, why am I being charged for something that should be standard. CBS and Fox Sports broadcast in HD! If the local channels are already in HD, then why would I pay additional for superfan? Then she goes to explain all the bells and whistles. I don't care for redzone mix and 8 games @ once. I want to watch the channels in HD and I shouldn't have pay additional for what is already broadcasted HD.

Don't give in completely. I argued until they gave me 50% off superfan. I didn't want to pay anything and like you said don't care about NFL mix. But it was either no HD games, pay another 50 or cancel fr 495 bucks. I won't renew next year.

I just had the same experience trying to watch a game last Sunday in HD. I learned then that I needed to pay extra for the SuperFan upgrade. I am going to send DirectTV a written formal complaint.

I consider this double charging. We have already paid $199 for each HD receiver with $6 / month rent, $10 / month access charge, $45.99 / month for 5 month for Sunday Ticket only to find out that DirecTV wants another $100 to receive games in HD.

I was OK whith the monopoly before thinking that I was set to get all game in HD was disappointing last Sunday when DirecTV blocked out the HD chanels.

There has to be a better way. Time for regulations and competition??????
