Crescent Processing company Complaint

Processing Fee Scam - credit card processing

I met with the salesman for a "10-minute" review of their services. More than an hour later, I explained I was not prepared to commit to changing our credit card processor but would compare costs over the weekend & make a decision. I ultimately decided not to change service providers & returned the processing equipment unopened. The sales rep had stated there would be a $60.00 one-time activation fee IF we started their service. Lo & behold, the next thing I know we have been charged a $60.00 one-time "processing fee" for their "time & effort in reviewing our potential account." My first conversation w/ Crescent Processing referred me to the sales rep. After two conversations with him, he told me it could only be handled through the main office. Customer service has not returned my calls. DON'T even meet with a rep from this company unless you want to give $60.00 away!

I met with these guys too. The sales guy gave me the pitch and then put his manager on the phone who went through everything again. I didn't switch but I will say that I have never experienced someone selling me something and then going through all of the salespoits a second time, just to make sure. That's one you don't see every day. When my current procesing contract is up, I will eep these guys in mind.

I concurr. I am a rep for crescent as well. Now,granted some sales reps out there will say anything to make a sale, however, every sale that is made in the field must be called in and double verified. How anyone could be charged anything without their knowledge doesn't make sense. Nothing is charged to anyone antil the equpt. is activated. So, the customer not only has to verify the terms of the sale at the time, but has to go through the phone set up with the activation dept. All these things happened and you still didn't know what was going on? I'm sorry for your experience, but your situation doesn't hold water.

To Selah from beckyann: I clearly told your rep I had only 10 minutes to meet, as I am a one-person office & was preparing for several days off, which was why I was in no position to take the time to (1) meet with him at length and (2)review our current plan & costs and make a commitment before I returned from my days off. Which is why he reassured me that there was ABSOLUTELY NO commitment in any of the process unless I were to open, activate & begin using the equipment. I took careful notes of EVERYTHING he said in this regard, & I still have the notes. They clearly state there is no fee of any kind if I do not change processors. The equipment box was at my office when I returned from my time off; I returned it without opening it, nor did I ever activate it. In my subsequent conversations with the rep, he expressed surprise that I had been charged $60, since I had not activated, but did not feel any obligation to pursue it further on my behalf. Certainly $60 is a cheap lesson overall to learn not to do any kind of business with Crescent Processing in the future.

Hi
Please DO NOT USE CRESCENT PROCESSING COMPANY for your business.
The rep came to my store he told me I will not be charge for anything if I cancel my services before a month is over. Since their services are not good; called them several times to asked them to send the computerized contract that I signed...but nothing...Today I called to cancel 2 weeks after I signed the contract and they are charging 495 dolars for cancelation.
DO NOT USED THEM...DO NOT EVEN TALK TO THEM

Wow! I'm sorry to read about your bad experience. I'm actually a rep for Crescent myself. I've personally never experienced that from any of my clients. I don't know what can be done about the $60 bucks, and as a sales rep, those type of things really are out of our hands. Don't know if it helps, but I've worked for other processors and we're the only one that collects a processing fee after a committment. Typically the average processing/applications fees I've seen range from $100 - $150. They're also collected up front. The only time I've known for them to be waived is 1. out of desperation or 2. if you purchase equipment. If you buy equipment, the profit made far outweighs a measly $200 app fee. And last I knew, Crescent doesn't sell equipment. I know anytime you feel scammed it hurts, but really, if you don't get $60 bucks back I've seen and heard of much worse. Oh, you said you didn't want to commit to anything, but as a rep I know that we comfirm sales from our appointments and also have to submit a filled and signed application plus a voided check before we ever ship our equipment. If you were that unsure, why did ever let things get that far? Selah
