Why can a store have on its sign in big letters will not be undersold.

I purchased a trolling motor, One day later I was online at walmart.com and found the same motor for approx $16.00 Less. I printed this page and went to walmart. I was told they don't price match walmart.com. I would have to return this motor. Buy the one online and have it shipped for free to the store to get the price difference..Huh
this is really stupid. I had already given the motor as a gift and the package had been destroyed. So I got ripped off. This is false advertisement. Why is it that they are able to get by with this. I guess this is what you call, A rip off.

Walmart only price matches on other local stores in the direct area. The online store is considered a completely different entity. Most retail stores are the same, the online store is completely different with different prices and the won't price match because they are able to offer lower prices online because they don't have to pay the same amount of overhead verses a traditional store. Generally it says the price are valid online only and give different prices if you want to buy the item at a regular store.
