Allina Hospitals & Clinics Complaint
Prescription Writing Failure

Last 3 prescriptions, the doctor writes and then a day or two later, I've found they aren't on my insurance's formulary. The pharmacy sends a note to doctor to get prior approval and takes weeks! You can never talk directly to the doctor's nurse (they take a message and more days pass before you make contact).
They have this new computer system that is worthless. When doctor prescribes a drug, it should check my insurance's formulary and either recommend an alternative or start prior approval process then!
You are also trapped with their arcane system of contacting doctor (or their nurse). You leave a message via phone. That's it! WHERE'S EMAIL??? I SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEND A REQUEST, COMMENT OR INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CLINIC AND NOT HAVE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE AND PLAY TELEPHONE TAG WITH MY DOCTOR'S NURSE!
