Poor performance of Norton 360

Last year I installed Norton 2007 on three machines and within two weeks two crashed with corrupted registry.
This year I purchased a three machine license Norton 360 and installed in three machines. It is inconvenient and non-user friendly. There is no option to scan specified drives like a flash drive. In one session, it updates in bits and needs multiple reboots. Since the installation, every second day the computer displays 'the registry was successfully recovered from a backup'. Frequently it shows 'A component of Norton 360 has stopped working, please reboot'.
Two weeks back, a colleague inserted his flash USB drive in my computer and Norton displayed '...processing threats' followed by 'a component has stopped functioning, please reboot'. Since then Norton stopped loading. I failed to uninstall Norton even using the uninstaller from Symantec site. Ultimately Windows XP got corrupted and the computer needed formatting with loss of many man-hours reinstalling softwares. In another computer the flashdrive showed Noupdate Trojan which Norton failed to handle and the Trojan killed Norton and the computer too.
A week back, the second computer, with fully updated Norton 360 started showing 'Run time error 216 at address ...' every minute. I found out from net that this is due to infection with SubSeven Trojan. Repeated scan with Norton 360 failed to detect any virus, Trojan or malicious spyware and the computer became fully nonfunctional repeatedly popping up 'Run time error 216...'. Finally, I downloaded Trojan Remover 6.6.8.2522 free from net and to my astonishment the freeware set the computer right, which Norton 360 puchased paying through nose, failed to prevent, detect or remove.
I am using Norton antivirus for a decade and after Norton 2006, the quality is deteriorating at fast pace. Norton 360 is totally USELESS. It can neither protect nor detect Trojans, killing is beyond its capability. I wish I knew about Trojan Remover freeware earlier. I could save my other computer from formatting. Hats off to Trojan Remover. I recommend it to others having Trojan problems. Norton 360 is absolutely USELESS, a wastage of my money.
