Poor customer service - X10 2010 module

I bid on an item at one of their auctions and thought I was then outbid. In order to secure the lowest charges with shipping included, I subsequently ordered the same item at full price along with other items. I was then notified that I had won the auction. On calling customer service, I was told to complete the auction transaction and the order would be cancelled. When I did and called back, I was told that the order could not be cancelled. Moreover the sales people claim they cannot accept return with refund of the full price item but only of the auction item. I believe this is vindictiveness on the part of low level clerical staff who do not like to be reminded of their incompetence. Anyway, it does not speak well of the comany.
