Picture it... New Year's day, a little hung over, your stomach is thinking all I need it is some eggs, bacon, and potatoes with a couple of cups of coffee to start off the new year.... I go to my usual Galaxy Diner , a hell's kitchen staple at 46th & 9th that I have religiously supported at least 3 times a week for the 5 years I have lived in the neigborhood. Me and my best friend go in around 1:00pm... The place is a ghost own with only 3 other tables full, out of maybe 20. The girl at the register seats us at a table in front of a really uncomfortably hot, and bright window... So we moved to the booth right behind it. An odd little booth that "L's" around a column, where one side seats 2, and the other only 1. I have sat here at least 7-8 times with just one other person since they re-opened after a recent remodeling. The girl walks over a grabs our menus up and says you can't sit here, this is for four people. I said "its not busy at all, and that table is really bright and hot, and I sit here all the time with just one other person, and have been coming here for years" Well, the girl says"I don't care, you can't sit here" She just stared at us and wouldn't give us back our menus... So I said, "You aren't busy, whats the big deal? I sit here all the time?" She said "I said you can't sit here" So I just stood up and started putting on my coat, and told her I was going somewhere else.... she said "fine I don't care" and we left.

So I hope the owner/manager of the Galaxy Diner on 46th and 9th ave reads this. The snotty little 20 something girl just drove away 2 very loyal customers who have been eating at that diner, and ordering food from them at least 3 times weekly for almost 5 years... And don't worry, I have told all my other Hells Kitchen pals who frequent them as well......
