I love my palm pre, but I am frustrated that I can't resend or forward text messages. This is going to take some getting used to.

I love the mutlti-tasking and the UI in general is superb. The lack of apps is a very bad - and I hope that changes SOON. Here are the list of things that I believe could be improved and/or need work:

1) Can't copy text from web or email (inbox) pages to any other app (incl another web page where input is required. Cursor movement is awkward & cumbersome.

2) Tasks need alarms & repeatability. Copy/paste of calender/tasks w/ in those apps like datebk6.

3) When choosing dates, show day of the week as well as the actual date (or show a calendar like in palm os calendar app).

4) There should be a Select all option any place where text is visible and/or editable.

5) In tasks, color code categories (allow choice of color when creating category). When event alarms occur, allow custom snooze (able to specify # minutes, hrs, or days toll next alarm).

I have at least a couple years experience with a Treo700wx, and for the most part liked it. I have bought the Pre to replace it, but may switch back. I have not found the Pre to as practical as I had hoped. I have about 2000 business contacts and not all the information made it over. The biggest hole are the people's assistants, who I would deal with more often than not. By an large their numbers and emails made it, but none of their names did. Second, the syncing options are poor. While it is great to back it up at Palm, I need to back up both ways with my outlook. I bought the PocketMirror app to do this, but it only connects through WiFi so if I don't have a signal, I can't sync. Third, there needs to be some way to toggle the cursor, if nothing else a back arrow. it is impossible to hit the exact right spot and really annoying to have to backspace to make corrections. Fourth, I am experiencing random resets. I should have been prepared when it happened two times to the salesman before I left the store. I really hope some of this is addressed in updates. I want to keep this phone.

I like the pre quite a bit. But it has some pretty basic flaws. There are limited settings to control notifications, vibrate, led controls, etc. Battery life is sub par, the app catalog is a joke. Where are the apps? Getting tired of the updates to existing apps. Why is push email not available? The email option to recieve as emails come in hardly works. Lastly, synergy. I have over 1000.facebook friends, I in no way want over 1000 contacts in my phone especially since I would only ever need maybe 200 of them. I would like to be able to choose which contacts are synced and which are not. I will say though, that palm has made an excellent product. My dad founded palmgear.com one of the original palm software sites) years ago and have been around palm products for most of my life.
