Open my bag and stole out of my luggage! - Baggage Handling

!I always fly with Northwest Airlines and have never experienced a problem before. I was rushing through security when I had to go back and check a bag because of a gel bottle I had in my carry-on. I rushed back to the ticket counter and checked the bag rushing back to security so I did not miss my flight. I forgot to remove my digital camera from the bag and once I realized I had forgotten it, I did not think it would be an issue. When I arrived in Raleigh, NC, I was standing at the beginning of the belt where your luggage comes out at the baggage claim area. My bag came out, opened up and the camera was gone. I immediately went to the baggage office of Northwest and attempted to file a claim. The lady, Lorena, was EXTREMELY rude, unprofessional and told me that she will not allow me to file a claim. I explained to her that I always fly with NW and would like to resolve this and file a claim. She told me to go fly with another airline. I was stunned! I left telling her I will call the customer service line to get this handled, she told me go ahead and call them! I called them on my way to my destination explaining to them what just took place. They told me that I had every right to file a claim and to go back to the airport. I did so the next day and the same lady was working. She told me she did not care what customer service said, she was not allowing me to file a claim. She then pulled out the brochure and read to me stating, she nor Northwest Airlines were not responsible. I sat there and waited for her to start the claim. She finally gave in but I forgot to bring my luggage tag. She then told me before leaving that she will deny my claim once it is submitted! I had to then come back in the morning and get into it with a new luggage employee of NW, she did not want to take a claim either! She then called her manager who told her to take a claim. The young lady then told me that they will not cover my stolen camera but she will submit the claim. I am still fighting to have NW cover the cost of the $500.00 digital camera that one of their employees stole out of my bag that they opened up and went through!
