Micro Center Complaint

On Aug 24th, 2007 my wife brought in her 2 year-old winbook laptop (with a 1 year warranty left on it) to Micro Center because of problems with the sound and other issues. My wife is in Grad school and there are quite a few programs on her laptop that are essential for her to do the type of research her program requires. Bottom line: she needs her laptop. Micro Center's website promised to have repairs done in 4 days. Um...4 WEEKS later there is still no sign of this laptop and my wife is approaching deadlines in her schooling which, if not met, will put her back possibly as much as a semester. We have spoken to 6 or 7 different people at this Micro Center and we have received different cenarios about why it's taking so long from almost each person. We don't know who to believe at this point. We do appreciate the loner laptop my wife picked up from Micro Center today Sept. 18th 2007, however, it's still up in the air whether she will be able to use it as efficiently as her old laptop as there are different versions of word and other programs on it that will make it difficult to use.

If you decide to purchase a laptop from Micro Center just make sure you don't really need it and you'll be fine (which kind of defeats the purpose of getting a laptop).
