Old San Juan Restaurant in Coral Gables (Miami), FL is a great neighborhood place to have delicious, very nicely-presented and authentic Puerto Rican food. On weekends, the buffet is a nice combination of various types of island food - a real taste of the island. I particularly love the pasteles (meat-stuffed plantain wrapped in plantain leaf) and the cod salad - a very refreshing way to get your fish and veggies! The service is friendly and efficient and the place has an unhurried pace reminiscent of the island experience. The flavors are clean and fresh - everything tastes just-cooked. I was so happy with the place, that I had them cater a corporate event that I organized at my company. Wow! The owner pulled out all the stops and presented a beautiful spread. Result? Happy colleagues celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in style!
