About 2 weeks ago, I scheduled a service appointment for my dishwasher which is about one year old. The customer service rep confirmed all details such as time frame for the repair, the appliance to be serviced and the address where the appliance was located and the service would obviously take place. I requested a Saturday appointment between 8 and 12. On the Friday (previous day) before, I received a call confirming that the service center that a technician would be at my home between 8 & 12. At approximately 8:25 am on Saturday morning, I received a call from a "service specialist" who told me that the technician could not find my address which ne babbled off as a a close match to my old address which I moved from over 18 months ago. At the time I moved, I had changed my address with sears- I need to mention that I have other service contracts with them for my refrigerator, washer, dryer and 2 vacuum cleaners. Since Jan of 2008, they delivered a dishwasher(this dishwasher) to my current address and came to install it (but the guy was unable to do it), repaired my washer twice and also my dryer. All at my new address, which was the address that shows up with the phone # for each phone call and also on the computer screen at the repair center where I dropped off vacuum cleaners more than once. Well the cust svc guy told me the new address was not on file and they could not come to this address. HUH????? THey 'attempted'to patch me into customer service and I was cut off 4x (yes I kept calling back). I finally got someone on the phone who spoke clearly and didn't cut me off who then told me they could not reschedule the appointment since it was cancelled. I didn't cancel this appointment. They told me to call back and reschedule. For what, so I can wait again for them not to show up? They had my address to try and sell me windows and also to solicit me to buy and then bill me for service contracts that they are unable to fulfill.
I now have a National customer relations phone number which I will call on Monday to get my money on the contracts back and find another repair service to give my money to. In this economy, I am sure there is a reputable repair service that will appreciate my business and fulfill their part of the contract! I am not done with Sears- Dont Waste your money they are a rip off. Not what they used to be.
