No delivery/lost order - Placing and getting an order

After 8 days I decided to find out where my order was, I was shocked and disappointed to find that according to my order status, none of the items had been shipped yet and no additional details could be provided. I called the toll free number to find that they were having a high level of calls and to try again later, to be dropped.
I eventually got a human and was told that my order was in the shipping dept, and that it may take up to a week for it to be shipped.... keep in mind I placed this order on Dec 16th, its now Dec 23rd (yes it was for christmas gifts). After I spoke to a supervisor I was told that the order may have already been processed but she could not tell me where this order was, if it had actually shipped or if it was still in a warehouse somewhere. I was also told that I could not cancel the order again because they couldn't tell where this order was. The best that I can do is to refuse delivery when the order finally arrives, and then I have to go through the process of returning the items via whatever shipper they picked.
I was also told that there was nothing else they could do, and that I should be happy for this level of customer service (or lack of). Do not order anything from this company (I only did because my wife had picked some items she wanted for Christmas), stick to a trusted and proven supplier such as Amazon.com (they may not be the cheapest but they do deliver and they do a a grand job !)

In checking the internet I find that this comapny is a division of Norm Thompson, and they too have a terrible record of shiiping items slowly if at all.
Save yourself time and trouble - DON'T BUY FROM SOLUTIONS.COM OR NORM THOMPSON!!!!
