Nightmare with Direct TV

DirectTV Acct belonging to another person with the same name as me living in a different state with a past due acct was reported as mine incorrectly by Direct TV . I've had an active Direct-TV account prior to this other acct first opened and I've never missed a payment. Direct-TV refuses to deal with this issue directly and correct their mistake linking another acct/name with my acct. I've contacted both the collection agency, Allied Interstate, and Equfax, and they are both saying Direct-TV needs to initiate the request to correct this error as they are the original creditor. However, they refuses to cooperate and correct this blatant error. Unbelieveable! If you don't want to face nightmare in dealing w/ this type of screw up, stay away from Direct TV.
