LocalNet Internet Service Provider Sucks

Cancelling account is like pulling teeth. You must first get through on their phone line and then are told that the only way to cancel their services is via a letter. Which you must snail mail or fax.

I did this two months ago, and since they say they did not recieve it, I am stil be ing charged for the service. I have not even used their service for 9 months!

I agree with Rippedoff150!!! Only, I didn't know to send a letter. I called and cancelled but was not told to send a letter. They want to take me to court for $28.90 in New York, I live in Wyoming. I am planning on filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I too would like to put the company out of business, you would think they would wise up! The economy is in shambles! I called the 1-800# and was not very nice about the whole thing. She hung up on me!!! Then I called, and called and called... for and hour and a half. Leaving a message because I had to leave. Still haven't heard from them! I had no idea how bad this company was, if I had I would have never signed up for their service. That I only had for a couple of months.

I got localnet 3 days ago and I'm ready to cancel. It's just too slow.I see all these horror stories of localnet users on here. Can somebody please tell me how to cancel my service so that I don't become another horror story?

ABSOLUTELY DOCUMENT EVERYTHING, use your own email to contact them then per my attorney take that email, same day and have it notorized. protect yourself, i only wish i'd known how bad they were to cancel prior to signing up.

i've worked in IT for two decades, set up internet access for individuals, companies and municipalities and i have never had issues cancelling service as i have had with this horrible company. over six months i have attempted to call several times, no answer perpetual hold, tried their "chat" timed out said leave message, sent nearly a dozen emails to every address listed on their site, never one response. i followed their instructions verbatim before attempting alternate means to no avail. i finally gave up and turned it over to my attorney who is going to take them to court on my behalf. STAY AWAY FROM LOCALNET, THEY ARE CORRUPT CROOKS AND even if their service while connected is okay, LOCALNET SUCKS if you ever want to sever your ties with them. i actually was going to have more of my clients hookup with them prior to having to go through this hell they created for me since last year. i hope my attorney causes them some pain for what they have made me go through over the past months. p.s. if one customer had success cancelling their account don't wrongly assume that your one time experience is the norm as it is not. do a simple online search before preaching to the choir.

Send an email! 99% of these complaints i've read about are soley "i cancelled such and such service" and they didnt do it right. Well.. Follow the steps. I used to have localnet, and i followed their steps when i cancelled. Guess what i had to do. Send an email. That's all. The next day they had it cancelled. If you cant comprehend the difficult, strenous procedure of hitting compose and filling out the info THEY GIVE YOU, then you shouldnt be allowed to have the internet

Ditto and be prepared. After a year and 4 mos. many request, we finally had to cancel the credit card they were using and the credit card company credited us 4 months charges - they couldn't go back any further. Then we began getting demanding phone calls and refusing to acknowledge that they had been cancelled. Now they are threatening a law suit in the state of New York for $50??? We thought about just paying the $50 - I mean they've already got a years worth, whats $50 more. But, will it stop there? My husband called the state attorney generals office and he was told that since we allowed them to access our credit card account, there is nothing we can legally do??? Can you believe! We have decided to complain to the FCC and file our own law suit here. I would like to put this company out of business
