Valero claims they "do not hold any checks,' when received. I electronically paid a bill Dec,4th(Friday). Union Bank mailed a paper check Monday the 7th. Valero posted it December 19th. It was due December 12th. We learned from the bank that Valero typically holds "mailed checks" for 7 to 10 days before "posting."
Unless you make an immediate payment upon receipt of your bill, you are almost guaranteed to end up owing Valero a "late fee." What a stinking way to gouge their customers.

I completely agree, I canceled my card because it took them 7-14 days to post and then I'd get a late fee. Even tho I paid a week before my due date. I would call them every month to complain, I just got lame excuses. Bad customer service and a worse card.
