1. I have tried to get a quote to change my homeowner insurance company. The new company told me that my premium could be increased because I had 1 claim with my current homeowner ins company this year to have a few shingles replaced due to the wind damage. I told them that it's not right because the claim was denied since it was a small amount and the ins company didn't pay anything at all for that claim, and it shouldn't not affect my premium. They said since I filed a claim, it will affect my premium. I still think it's wrong since the claim was denied and it didn't cost the ins company a penny, then it should be considered as NO CLAIM and should NOT affect the customer's premium.

I think that it's UN-necessary for the insurance company to require us to give them our Social Security # just to give us a quote because they are not the bank and we don't plan to get a loan from them; therefore they don't need to run our credit score. I don't have any problem with my credit at all, but I just don't like the fact that they want to know our credit for no reason, and I don't think they have a need-to-know that info because they are not the BANK and we don't want any loan from them. Also, if they let your SS# slip out to the hand of someone bad out there, it could have adverse effect on us, and who know what. I think we SHOULD NOT give out our SS# to them just to get a quote, and they should not ask us for that. They don't really need to know our credit to sell us insurance. They are not the bank so they don't realy need our SS# to run our credit. It has nothing to do with them selling us insurance.
