I recently purchased a Hewlett-Packard Officejet Pro L7590 printer and I have also purchased ink cartridges that are not manufactured by HP. Since purchasing those cartridges the printer has stopped working and will not print. I purchased an off-brand ink cartridge because they are less expensive. When I wrote HP about this I received the following response:

Thank you for your reply. I am glad to assist you in this regard.

Wayne, I regret to inform you that HP All-in-One printers are designed to use only the HP Genuine cartridges and HP recommends you to use HP Genuine cartridges.

I understand how frustrating it can be in a situation like this. I regret that the quality of product and service you received did not meet your expectations. Candid feedback such as yours will help us to improve our product and service offerings. However, we are here to help you in the best possible way.

Your satisfaction is important to us.

HP Total Care”

In other words, if I do not use their ink cartridges I cannot use their printer. This is unacceptable.

On 5/27/09 we purchsed a combo pack of 56/57 cartridges. The tri color was placed in hp psc 2410 photosmart all-in-one printer at that time. All was great, then 8/9/09 we placed the #56 black cartridge in printer. We got an error message "remove & ck print cartridge". We did this 3 times, then put the old one back in and message cleared.The # on cartridge is c6656A, exp date 2/17/2011. I spoke with cust support for 1 hr, then they said they could not help me. We determined the #56 cartridge is defective. Can you help me to get it replaced. The store I bought it from said they cannot replace it after the pkg was opened. How do you know it is bad unless you open it? My e-mail is jimty@mvtel.net. Please respond.
